Caldera has unveiled a new raster image processor aimed at enhancing production for the DTF and DTG markets, featuring user-friendly tools and extensive functionality.

Caldera, a division of the global manufacturing company Dover, has announced the launch of its latest raster image processor (RIP) solution targeted at the Direct-to-Film (DTF) and Direct-to-Garment (DTG) digital textile printing markets. The announcement was made on March 19, 2025, from their facility in Downers Grove, Illinois.

The new RIP solution is designed to enhance the capabilities of printed apparel creators, printers, and producers within the garment decoration industry. Notably, it is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems, providing a broad accessibility to users. This software aims to streamline the production process, enabling full customization for unique and small batch print runs.

Sebastien Hanssens, Vice President of Marketing & Operations at Caldera, stated, “We’ve made the interface intuitive and focused on the features that matter most for DTF and DTG users.” He emphasized that the tool not only aids in the efficient creation of designs that align with brand colors but also helps novices learn through built-in educational resources.

Among its features, the software includes precise White Management Tools for handling white ink, along with ready-to-use presets crafted by experts for Print Management. Users can also benefit from a design preview function that identifies potential errors prior to printing, thus saving time and resources.

The RIP solution is equipped with various File Preparation tools, such as automatic image mirroring, and offers a comprehensive suite of Color Management Tools that support spot color conversion, knockout capabilities, and management of up to 12 types of inks including fluorescents and glosses. It is compatible with numerous file formats, including BMP, PSD, PDF, and JPEG, making it versatile for applications across t-shirts, hoodies, and various promotional items.

Caldera, headquartered near Strasbourg, France, has built a reputation over the past 25 years as a leading developer in raster image processing software and workflow solutions within the textile and graphics arena. Its parent company, Dover, has positioned itself as a diversified global manufacturer with over $7 billion in annual revenue, offering a wide range of innovative equipment and solutions across multiple sectors.
